Fundamentals in mentalization-based treatment for suicidal and self-injurious youth
Mentalizing-based treatment (MBT) has developed over the last 2 decades as a coherent conceptual framework, and it is increasing as an empirically supported approach to borderline personality disorder, family treatment of children and adolescents, eating disorders, and self-harming adolescents. In this Extended Workshop, participants will learn about: 1) how mentalizing capacities develop in the context of attachment relationships; and 2) the impact of neurodevelopmental changes in the mentalizing capacities of adolescents.
