1.7 pharmacological treatment of sleep disorders
Although sleep is a critical aspect of development and well-being, sleep disruption among children is common, because approximately 25 percent of children experience some type of sleep disturbance during childhood. Sleep disorders are more frequent among youth with mental health disorders. This presentation will provide an update on current pharmacological options for the treatment of common DSM-5 sleep-wake disorders such as insomnia, hypersomnia disorder, narcolepsy, restless legs syndrome, and parasomnias.
