9.2 patterns and predictors of stimulant medication use from childhood to adulthood in the prospective long-term follow-up of the multimodal treatment study of adhd (mta)

Most children diagnosed with ADHD are treated with stimulant medication. The AACAP Practice Parameter for the assessment and treatment of ADHD (recommendation number 12) advises treatment for as long as symptoms persist, but information on duration of medication use (treatment as usual in clinical practices) is limited. The main objective is to use the data from long-term follow-up of the MTA to address this important gap in the literature.
