3.60 risk and protective factors related to treatment compliance from ideation to completed suicide in adolescents: a systematic review

Suicide, the second leading cause of mortality among females and the third leading cause among males from ages 15 to 24 years, accounts for an estimated 6 percent of all young people ’s deaths in the world. Once the studies show that abandonment and reiterations are a real problem in the population at risk for suicide, treatment compliance is a major preoccupation when treating these populations. We aimed to review studies with adolescents (ages 11–18 years) at suicide risk or those who had completed suicide to explore the association between treatment compliance and risk and protective factors associated with suicide ideation, suicide attempt, or completed suicide.
