3.66 a survey of child and adolescent psychiatry trainees ’ attitudes towards prescribing psychotropic medications

Over the past 2 decades, there has been increasing concern regarding the potential overprescription of psychotropic medications in children and adolescents. As a result, there has been a push for more evidence-based prescribing practices and an emphasis on deprescribing to minimize polypharmacy. The goal of this study was to examine trainees ’ attitudes toward the practice of psychopharmacology and to consider areas for curriculum development.
