4.17 schizophrenia in adolescents: is schizo-obsessive a subtype?

Although robust medical literature supports the existence of some well-established comorbid entities such as depression and anxiety, ADHD, and ODD, as well as OCD and tic disorders, other associations are less robust. This literature review aims to shine light upon 2 currently distinct diagnoses (ie, OCD and schizophrenia) and to explore the possibility of a comorbid association between obsessive-compulsive symptoms (OCS) and psychotic symptoms, with a special focus on the clinical implications of this combined presentation, especially for adolescents.
