This article first discusses the general requirements for conducting board certification examinations as laid down in the specialty training regulations of the German State Chambers of Physicians. Concrete suggestions are made for training assistants concerning selection of the specialist literature to be processed and allocation of the time in which the material to be covered can be learned. Aspiring medical specialists are provided with suggestions regarding their surroundings and a favorable atmosphere in the final hours before the examination. Furthermore, desirable but also undesirable behaviors of the examinee during...

Publication date: Available online 14 November 2019Source: Nano EnergyAuthor(s): M. Abdullah Adil, Jianqi Zhang, Yuheng Wang, Jinde Yu, Chen Yang, Guanghao Lu, Zhixiang WeiAbstractAn optimized bulk heterojunction (BHJ) interface, certifying enhanced exciton-splitting, charge separation and recombination inhibition, is vastly desired to obtain high power conversion efficiencies (PCEs). Herein, the ternary strategy has been employed to effectively modify the phase separation between the J71:ITIC blend by incorporating a 3D aggregation-induced emission (AIE) material, Tetraphenylethylene (TPE). Hence, as a consequence of impr...

Publication date: Available online 13 November 2019Source: Progress in Materials ScienceAuthor(s): Ziliang Chen, Huilin Qing, Kun Zhou, Dalin Sun, Renbing WuAbstractThe rapid development of hydrogen energy is strongly dependent on the economic and efficient production of hydrogen. The electrocatalytic splitting of water to molecular hydrogen via the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) provides an appealing solution for producing high-purity hydrogen, but low-cost and highly active electrocatalysts are required for HER. Among currently investigated HER electrocatalysts, metal-organic framework (MOF)-derived nanocomposites con...

In this study, PLA was melt blended with 5, 10 and 15 wt% of Kraft lignin. The composites were prepared using a high-speed mixer rotating at 3000 rpm. In this process, the mixing, melting, and homogenization take place by the high friction between the rotor and the polymer. Test specimens were obtained by hot pressing. The thermal, mechanical and morphological properties of the composites were evaluated. Test specimens for Izod impact strength tests of all compositions were buried in the aquarium apparatus and kept at room temperature with humidity controlled. The samples were removed at 0, 30, 60, 90 and 180 days. A...

In this study, the wear resistance of an epoxy powder coating was improved by SiO2 nanoparticles and their possible effect on curing kinetics of the coating was also evaluated. The epoxy powder coating was prepared with different percentages of nanoparticles (1-3 by wt.%) using a hot mixer, a method that can be more economic than other ones. The particle size distribution and Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) of epoxy powder were evaluated to examine the effect of mixing on the powder. The effect of SiO2 on the curing of epoxy powder was studied by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). The Kissinger and mo...

In this report we present the 2019 update. We track progress on health and climate change in Australia across the same five broad domains and many of the same indicators as in 2018. A number of new indicators are introduced this year, including one focused on wildfire exposure, and another on engagement in health and climate change in the corporate sector. Several of the previously reported indicators are not included this year, either due to their discontinuation by the parent project, the Lancet Countdown, or because insufficient new data were available for us to meaningfully provide an update to the indicator. In a year...

Conclusions:Among US youth, no sexual orientation disparities were found except for snoring/stop breathing and daytime sleepiness among females. Sexual orientation disparities in these aspects of sleep are partially due to worse mental and physical health among sexual minority females, highlighting depressive symptoms and overweight problems as potential intervention targets.Clinical Trial Registration:Registry:ClinicalTrials.gov; Title: Health Behavior in School-Aged Children: NEXT Longitudinal Study 2009-2016; Identifier: NCT01031160Citation:Luk JW, Sita KR, Lewin D, Simons-Morton BG, Haynie DL.
