Case report: Paradoxical responses to short acting beta-agonists in a pediatric patient.

Conclusion: This case highlights the need to include paradoxical response to SABAs in the differential of a patient with poorly controlled asthma. It also provides an example of successful treatment of a pediatric patient with a class of medications previously reserved for adults with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. ConclusionsPotentially inappropriate ICS use is common among patients with and without airflow obstruction who are diagnosed with COPD. We identified patient comorbidities and patterns of healthcare utilization that increase the likelihood of ICS use that could be targeted for system-level de-implementation interventions.

Conclusions: Airway eosinophilia and airway hyperresponsiveness are complicated with 25 – 50% of COPD that have no symptom and history for asthma. These phenotypes of COPD are closely related to symptom stability and reactivity to glucocortisosteroids. These phenotypes may play key roles for advancement of the management and therapy of this disease.
