To eat soy or to not eat soy: the ongoing look at phytoestrogens and fertility

Phytoestrogens, plant-derived compounds found predominantly in soy, and their overall reproductive health impact and safety remain hotly debated. Whether they have stimulatory or inhibitory effects on estrogen receptors is much more complicated than originally thought. There are numerous studies that suggest health benefit: reductions in breast and other cancers, fibroids, menopausal symptoms, cardiovascular disease, inflammation, and metabolic syndrome and obesity.
