14PApplication of sonoporation to increase anticancer drug efficacy in 2D and 3D NSCLC cell cultures

ConclusionsUS is a promising physical method to enhance anticancer drug efficacy, especially into 3D cell cultures. However, there is a lack of evidence about its efficacy and further studies are needed.Legal entity responsible for the studyThe authors.FundingLithuanian University of Health Sciences; Kaunas University of Technology.DisclosureAll authors have declared no conflicts of interest.

We describe two patients with advanced non ‐small‐cell lung cancer (NSCLC), including one in whom the definitive diagnosis of pulmonary pleomorphic carcinoma (PPC) was made by histopathology of the resected tumour and another in whom the diagnosis of “favor adenocarcinoma containing sarcomatoid components” was made by tissue biopsy. Both were resistant to first line platinum‐based chemotherapy, but responded dramatically to second line nivolumab therapy. We present two cases of pulmonary pleomorphic carcinoma (PPC) treated with Nivolumab. A 57 ‐year‐old man presented with a 3.5‐cm mass in the left l...

Kandalaft* Department of Oncology, Center for Experimental Therapeutics, Ludwig Center for Cancer Research, University of Lausanne, Lausanne, Switzerland With the advent of combined immunotherapies, personalized dendritic cell (DC)-based vaccination could integrate the current standard of care for the treatment of a large variety of tumors. Due to their proficiency at antigen presentation, DC are key coordinators of the innate...

Rationale: Although most of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients with ROS1-fusions respond to crizotinb, acquired resistance eventually develop. The next-generations of ROS1 inhibitors have made some achievements, but the effects of immunotherapy have not been explored. Patient concerns: A 44-year-old Chinese women presented with cough and dyspnea with a history of advanced lung adenocarcinoma. Diagnosis: A PET/CT scan revealed primary tumors in bilateral lung lobes and multiple metastases in lymph nodes and bones. And ultrasound-guided left cervical lymph node biopsy revealed the pathological diagnosis was ...

Conclusions: Our study has illustrated EBUS-TBNA cytology with ROSE can achieve accurate subtyping of NSCLC and a high proportion of sufficient material for molecular analysis. In addition our NSCLC-NOS rate (8.6%)is lower than UK national average (9%) in 2017.References: 1- Royal College of Physicians. National Lung Cancer Audit annual report 2017

Abstract A 56-year-old man presented with a chest computed tomography (CT) finding of a right upper lobe nodule, which was diagnosed using brush cytology as adenocarcinoma stage IB (cT2aN0M0). Repeat CT scan for preoperative evaluation revealed a small, slightly hypodense spot in the pancreatic body, which was diagnosed as pancreatic metastasis from lung cancer using endoscopic ultrasound-guided fine needle aspiration biopsy (EUS-FNAB). Because of the presence of distant metastasis, surgical resection was deferred and chemotherapy was chosen instead. Pancreatic metastasis from non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is...

We report the case of an asymptomatic woman in whom progressive thrombosis of the KD extending to the prevertebral tract of an aberrant right subclavian artery was detected at multidetector computed tomography imaging for lung cancer staging performed before and after the beginning of chemotherapy. Reversed blood flow in the ipsilateral vertebral artery due to subclavian steal phenomenon was also observed by color Doppler ultrasound examination.

Conclusion This study shows that bronchoscopic re-biopsy for NSCLC is feasible and provides adequate samples that enable identification of resistance mutations and rare driver oncogenes.

Abstract: Despite known limitations of positron emission tomography (PET) for mediastinal staging of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), radiation treatment fields are generally based on PET-identified disease extent. However, no studies have examined the accuracy of FDG-PET/CT on a per-node basis in patients being considered for curative-intent radiotherapy in NSCLC. In a prospective trial, patients with NSCLC being considered for definitive thoracic radiotherapy (± systemic chemotherapy) underwent minimally invasive systematic mediastinal evaluation with endobronchial ultrasound-guided transbronchial needle aspir...
