256PNovel blood based circulating tumour cell biomarker for breast cancer detection

ConclusionsIn this initial study, CTC was a significant predictor of cancer. The CTC assay can easily be combined with cfDNA to enhance detection rates. Proof-of-concept data suggests potential for a rule out test to avoid unnecessary follow-up/biopsies in BIRADS 3/4 patients.Legal entity responsible for the studyCellMax Life.FundingCellMax Life.DisclosureF. AbstractBackgroundThe density of tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes (TIL) is a predictive factor for response to neoadjuvant systemic therapy (NAST) in breast cancer. High TIL density correlates with higher complete pathologic remission (pCR) in triple negative and HER2 positive breast cancer. Additionally, not only TIL density but also subsets of immune cells in tumor stroma seem to play an important role in cancer and immune cell interaction and response to chemotherapy. Our aim is to determine TIL density and expression of CD 20, CD3, CD8, PD-L1, FOXP3 and PGM1 on core biopsy specimen and find a correlation with pCR.Trial d...

Conclusions: Our model is more reliable and stable to assist doctors predict the SLN metastasis in breast cancer patients before operation. Introduction The incidence of breast cancer is the first in female malignant tumors, in which the highest incidence of breast cancer has been reported in Europe and the United States, however, in recent years, the incidence of breast cancer in China has annually increased (1, 2). Based on surgery as an important step in the treatment of breast cancer, in recent years, different individuals have never stopped exploration of a novel and optimum approach. Besides, NSABP-04, ASCOG-...

Conclusion: The texture analysis for breast DCE-MRI proposed in this study demonstrated potential utility in HER2 2+ status discrimination. Background Human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2) is an orphan tyrosine kinase receptor. It is reported that HER2 is overexpressed in 15–20% of breast cancers. Overexpression of HER2 in breast cancer correlates with shortened disease-free survival. Compared with HER2-negative patients, patients with HER2-positive breast cancers have a poor prognosis, a high probability of lymph node metastasis and a high risk of recurrence (1–3). However, previous studies h...

ConclusionPABC is an aggressive form of breast cancer associated with advanced stage at diagnosis. Despite the existing difficulties in diagnosis, imaging examinations are indispensable. Early diagnosis and multidisciplinary therapy, including anti ‐HER2 targeted therapy, may be important to improve prognosis.

CONCLUSIONS Imaging features of MBC on mammography and ultrasound were benign. The use of T2WI MRI showed characteristic features of signal intensity using TIC curve and ADC analysis, which may support biopsy and histological analysis for definitive diagnosis. PMID: 30618455 [PubMed - in process]

ConclusionHeterogeneity in hormone receptor status alters the therapeutic management of patients with synchronous bilateral breast cancer. Both hormone therapy and chemotherapy should be considered in these patients. It is of utmost importance to evaluate the tumor receptor status in cases of synchronous bilateral breast tumour and to assess for change in relation to tumour progression or treatment. Further study in the status change of receptors could open up new treatment modalities.

Conclusion: Microcalcification detected on mammography and certain ultrasound features such as circumscribed or non-circumscribed margins, posterior acoustic features, and vascularity are strongly correlated in predicting the molecular subtypes of breast cancer, and thus may further expand the role of conventional breast imaging.

A 47-year-old premenopausal woman with no known family history of breast cancer and an unremarkable medical history presented to her primary care physician after palpating a mass in her left breast. A mammogram and ultrasound demonstrated a 3.2  × 1.3-cm mass at 3 o'clock, 4 cm from the nipple, in her left breast. A biopsy showed invasive ductal carcinoma, intermediate nuclear grade, with associated high-grade ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS). Estrogen and progesterone receptors stained positive, HER2 was negative by FISH, and Ki67 was 25%.

A 35-year-old woman noticed a mass in her right breast and underwent a diagnostic workup, including a mammogram that revealed a 2.4-cm mass and ultrasound that showed two adjacent masses, as well as enlarged axillary lymph nodes.

Authors: Chiorean AR, Szep MB, Feier DS, Duma M, Chiorean MA, Strilciuc Ș Abstract AIMS: The purpose of this study was to determine the impact of strain elastography (SE) on the Breast Imaging Reporting Data System (BI-RADS) classification depending on invasive lobular carcinoma (ILC) lesion size. MATERIALS AND METHODS: We performed a retrospective analysis on a sample of 152 female subjects examined between January 2010 - January 2017. SE was performed on all patients and ILC was subsequently diagnosed by surgical or ultrasound-guided biopsy. BI-RADS 1, 2, 6 and Tsukuba BGR cases were omitted. BI-RADS scores ...
