Multifocal Appendiceal Carcinoid Tumor in an Adolescent: A Case Report and Review of the Literature

This report describes a case of a multifocal appendiceal carcinoid tumor identified incidentally following appendectomy in an adolescent. In this report, we describe the staging process and surgical management for focal and locally invasive appendiceal carcinoid tumors and highlight the rarity of multifocality in this location. The diagnostic and pathologic challenges for this case are presented.
