Laparoscopic anatomic resection of segment 7 of the liver using the intrahepatic Glissonean approach from the dorsal side (with video)

AbstractLaparoscopic anatomic resection of S7 (Lap ‐S7) is considered challenging because of its anatomical position and difficulty in identifying and isolating the Glissonean pedicles of S7 (G7) and approaching the right hepatic vein (RHV) [1]. G7 passes through the dorsal side of the RHV and close to the posterior liver surface. Therefore, apart from the benefit of laparoscopic caudo‐dorsal view, the approach to G7 is easier from the dorsal side of the liver (Fig. 1) [2].
