Emergent lands $20M contract to develop chemical weapon antidote
Gaithersburg ’s Emergent BioSolutions Inc. just added another task to its ever-growing to-do list: Develop a device to stop seizures caused by chemical weapons.
The company, which has two manufacturing sites in Baltimore, has secured about $20 million from the Department of Defense to design an auto-injector — a shot that can be given easily without medical training — to administer seizure drug diazepam, Emergent (NYSE: EBS) announced Thursday.
