Early postoperative inflammatory response by procedure types: stapler-based segmentectomy versus lobectomy
ConclusionIn our cohort, stapler-based thoracoscopic segmentectomy was associated with an increase in acute inflammatory response despite favorable perioperative outcome compared to lobectomy. Local surgical stress and damage in the remaining segments might play a key role and warrants further investigation.
