Charles L. Brewer Distinguished Teaching of Psychology Award This award recognizes a significant career of contributions of a psychologist who has a proven track record as an exceptional teacher of psychology. Deadline: December 1, 2013 Sponsor: American Psychological Foundation The awardee receives a plaque, a $2,000 award and an all-expense paid round trip to the APA Annual Convention, where the award is presented. Awardees are also invited to give a special address. Eligibility Nominees must demonstrate and will be rated on the following dimensions: Demonstrated influence as a teacher whose students became outstanding psychologists: names and careers of nominee's students and evidence of influence as a teacher of them. Development of effective teaching methods and/or teaching materials. Engagement in significant research or other creative activity on teaching. Development of innovative curricula and courses: description and sample of innovation and evidence of its successful utilization. Outstanding performance as a teacher in and outside the classroom: student ratings, enrollment figures, evaluative observation by colleagues, teaching awards and other forms of prior recognition. An especially effective trainer of teachers of psychology: description of the contributions and evidence of effectiveness.
