Factors Associated with Discharge to a Skilled Nursing Facility Compared to Home Following Stroke Rehabilitation
Identify factors which are independently associated with discharge to a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) compared to Home among acute stroke patients who received care at Inpatient Rehabilitation Facilities (IRFs).
CONCLUSION: Incidence of repeated thrombectomy was low. However, the high number of patients with known origin of stroke etiology raises the question how their monitoring may be optimized. The number of patients with remarkable extracranial pathologies or intracranial endothelial lesions supports current clinical practice to pay attention to final angiographic series. Conclusions Preoperative vitamin D was not associated with a composite of postoperative 30-day cardiac outcomes. However, there was a significant association between vitamin D deficiency and a composite of infectious complications and decreased kidney function. While renal effects were not clinically meaningful, the effect of vitamin D supplementation on infectious complications requires further study.
Conclusions: Our study suggests that endovascular recanalization for subacute to chronic symptomatic atherosclerotic BAO appears to be feasible in selected patients.
This study examined the anti-stroke effects of salidroside in middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAO)-induced rat model of stroke and its potential mechanisms involving the dopaminergic system. Salidroside administration increased the levels of dopamine (DA), homovanillic acid (HVA), and 3,4-dihydroxyphenylacetic acid (DOPAC) in the ipsilateral striatum after induction of transient ischemia, which were assessed using microdialysis with high-performance liquid chromatography coupled with electrochemical detection (HPLC-ECD). Furthermore, treatment with salidroside ameliorated neurobehavioral impairment, assessed with the mo...

BACKGROUND: The prevalence of falls can be as high as 73% in the stroke population. Falls occur as a result of multiple factors. Factors such as balance impairments can be improved through physical therapy intervention. However, insurance payers limit the ...
