Re: “Mid Term Results of Endovascular Treatment for Spontaneous Isolated Dissection of the Superior Mesenteric Artery”

As we mentioned in our article and as confirmed by another large cohort study,1,2 the conservative treatment remodelling rate was unsatisfactory, leaving concerns about recurrence. All the reviews Dr Jia cited in his letter were based on mainly small retrospective cohorts. Many of the cohorts were published a long time ago, with bias and ignoring the development of endovascular treatments. Our cohort, on the contrary, enrolled more than 100 patients. During the follow up period of up to five years, the complete remodelling rate  in the stent group reached 88%, which was exciting.
