Prognostic Significance of CIP2A in Esophagogastric Junction Adenocarcinoma: A Study of 65 Patients and a Meta-Analysis.
Conclusion: High expression of CIP2A was a poor indicator of the prognosis of EGJA, and CIP2A may be a new biomarker for the diagnosis and treatment of EGJA. The meta-analysis suggested that CIP2A expression can be a predictive marker of overall survival, disease-specific survival, and time to tumor progression in patients with solid tumors. Conclusion: Smoking was found to be closely associated with SOL/MIP-predominance in lung adenocarcinoma. Greater smoking quantity was related to the presence of a SOL/MIP component. PMID: 31624712 [PubMed]
Contributors : Y Li ; F Huang ; S ZhangSeries Type : Expression profiling by high throughput sequencingOrganism : Homo sapiensGlucose metabolism makes contributions to the development of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC). Meanwhile, circular RNAs, a subset of noncoding RNAs, plays an important role in glucose metabolism and cancer progression. Analysis of low-glucose-treated and normal-glucose-treated MIA PaCa-2 cells from 6 samples (3 samples each group) was conducted. Results indicate insight into molecular signature of the pathogenesis of PDAC in abberant glucose metabolism.
AbstractPatients with malignant tumors are usually accompanied with hypercoagulability state and high incidence risk of venous thromboembolism (VTE), especially in patients with pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC). However, conventional coagulation test is failed to identify this abnormity. We retrospectively reviewed clinical data of 78 PDAC patients and 79 age-matched controls with rapid thromboelastography (r-TEG) and conventional coagulation test. The main index of r-TEG include TEG-ACT (second), R (second), K (second), angle α (°) and MA (mm), and a short TEG-ACT, short R, a short K, a broad angleα...
ConclusionThe better prognosis in young patients is presumably due to their better physiological reserve and lower incidence of comorbidities. Efforts should be made in younger patients to diagnose early and treat aggressively.

SaberAbstractUntargeted metabolomics was used in this study to discriminate the phenolic fingerprints of six Syzygium species. This approach resulted in the annotation of 441 compounds that belong to different phenolic classes, such as flavonoids, lignans, stilbenes, tyrosols, alkylphenols, and phenolic acids. Multivariate data analysis unraveled the main differences between the studied species. S. paniculatum and S. aqueum were the richest sources in terms of phenolic...

Discussion: The incidence of rhabdomyosarcoma arising from endometriosis is exceedingly rare. The accuracy of diagnosing endometriosis and ruling out neoplasm requires coordinated efforts of a multidisciplinary team, involving radiologists, pathologists, oncologists, and gynecologic surgeons. CONCLUSION: Disease progression is an independent predictor with negative impact in overall survival. PMID: 31625877 [PubMed - in process]
Conclusions: Despite theoretical oncological advantages associated with AFA-PD and evidence coming from low-level studies, this multicenter, randomized, controlled trial has found no difference neither in R0 resection rates nor in postoperative complications in patients undergoing ST-PD versus AFA-PD for pancreatic head adenocarcinoma and other periampullary tumors.
