Rationale: Stellate Ganglion Block (SGB) provides a blockade of sympathetic signals from the sympathetic chain and appears to be a promising method of controlling refractory ventricular arrhythmias, but there are scanty data in the literature. Patient concerns: Herein, we describe a 59-year-old male patient with a history of non-ischemic cardiomyopathy and suffering from frequent VT episodes, who received ICD implantation and regular amiodarone medication control. Diagnoses: Monomorphic VT refractory to standard medication control and focal extensive catheter ablation. Interventions: Left Stellate Ganglion Block...

WEDNESDAY, Oct. 30, 2019 -- Hypoglycemic episodes may increase the risk for ventricular arrhythmia (VA) and sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) among patients with type 2 diabetes, according to a study published online Oct. 26 in Diabetes/Metabolism...

CONCLUSIONS: RDN reduced the incidence of PVC, inhibited prolongation of the QTc interval, and reduced VA in the early period following an AMI. These results suggest that RDN might be a therapeutic option in patients with electrical instability after AMI. PMID: 31642212 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

We describe a patient with symptomatic premature ventricular contractions of left‐ventricular outflow tract origin presenting with a variation of QRS morphology during ablation. The correlation between the chara cteristics of local voltage potentials and the real origin site of the ventricular arrhythmia is discussed.

DiscussionGiven the multiorgan system potential adverse side effects of prednisone, proving noninferiority of an alternate regimen would be sufficient to make the alternative compare favorably to standard dose steroids. This is the first ever clinical trial in cardiac sarcoidosis and thus in addition to the listed goals of the trial, we will also establish a multi-center, multinational cardiac sarcoidosis clinical trials network. Such a collaborative infrastructure will enable a new era of high quality data to guide physicians when treating cardiac sarcoidosis patients.

Because of previous ventricular arrhythmia (VA) episodes, patients with implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD) for secondary prevention (SP) are generally considered to have a higher burden of VAs than p...

CONCLUSION: Collectively, these findings suggest that the increased ventricular arrhythmia susceptibility of type 2 diabetic mouse hearts is due to dysregulation of the sympathetic ventricular control. PMID: 31625779 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

ConclusionsAll MVT cases were successfully treated by catheter ablation. We observed high ventricular arrhythmia free rate following catheter ablation during the long-term follow-up period. BrS patients who developed MVT should consider catheter ablation.

Adults with repaired Tetralogy of Fallot (rTOF) are at increased risk of ventricular tachycardia (VT) due to fibrotic remodeling of the myocardium. However, the current clinical guidelines for VT risk stratification and subsequent ICD deployment for primary prevention of sudden cardiac death in rTOF remain inadequate.
