Hysteroscopic removal of placental remnants using the bigatti shaver®: a mininvasive surgical approach
ConclusionsIntrauterine Bigatti Shaver® is a feasible technique for placental remnants removal. Further studies comparing various surgical treatment are needed to define which technique is the safest and completely remove placental remnants.
Molecular heterogeneity of endothelial cells underlies their highly specialized functions during changing physiological conditions within diverse vascular beds. For example, placental spiral arteries (SAs) undergo remarkable remodeling to meet the ever-growing demands of the fetus — a process which is deficient in preeclampsia. The extent to which maternal endothelial cells coordinate with immune cells and pregnancy hormones to promote SA remodeling remains largely unknown. Here we found that remodeled SAs expressed the lymphatic markers PROX1, LYVE1, and VEGFR3, mimicking lymphatic identity. Uterine natural killer (...

The aim of this video is to demonstrate the use of laparoscopic ultrasound guidance during hysteroscopic resection of a congenital uterine and vaginal septum.
Hysteroscopic surgery is a fundamental skill for all obstetricians and gynaecologists. Time pressure within each case and inadequate OR exposure times can limit hands-on skills acquisition for residents. In order to ensure residents are obtaining and practicing fundamental skills, it is essential to develop teaching methods that can be used outside of an OR setting. The porcine tongue model is a simple and inexpensive model for operative hysteroscopy teaching that is both realistic and effective in teaching residents the fundamentals of hysteroscopic surgery.
