Nonetheless, opioid-induced endocrinopathies still remain underdiagnosed, mainly because of symptom under-reporting by patients and poor clinician awareness. Hypogonadism is the most well recognised consequence of opioid use, but the inhibitory effects of opioid drugs on the hypothalamo–pituitary&ndash...
In this study, we found that mortalin significantly inhibited the replication of porcine epidemic diarrhea virus (PEDV) through restricting virus entry. Mechanistically, a biochemical interaction between the carboxyl terminus of mortalin and clathrin heavy chain (CLTC) was been found, and mortalin could induce CLTC degradation through the proteasomal pathway, thereby inhibiting the clathrin-mediated endocytosis of PEDV into host cells. In addition, artificial changes in mortalin expression affected the cell entry of transferrin, further confirming the above results. Finally, we confirmed that this host-mounted antiviral me...
Evaluate the perioperative narcotic utilization patterns at the time of myomectomy, specifically as they relate to the opioid epidemic. We also aim to evaluate the differences between conventional laparoscopy and robotic surgery in terms of narcotic utilization.
Screening guidelines for endometrial hyperplasia/malignancy are based on a patient population predating the current obesity epidemic. With the rise in obesity and related malignancies, the objective of this study is to evaluate various risk factors for endometrial hyperplasia/malignancy in premenopausal women with AUB or oligomenorrhea. Specifically the study aims to elucidate whether obesity or age confers higher risk of disease in the premenopausal population.
Evaluate the utilization patterns for narcotic medication both intraoperatively and postoperatively at the time of benign minimally invasive hysterectomy, specifically as they relate to the opioid epidemic.
