CONCLUSION: The combination of recession and resection procedures with nasal loop myopexy was found to be effective in correcting the ocular deviation and limitation to elevation in abduction by correcting the deflected course of superior rectus and medial rectus to result in an effective improvement of elevation in abduction. CONCLUSIONS The proportion of myopic women in labor receiving ophthalmological consultations showed an increasing trend over time. Despite publication of the Ophthalmology-Obstetrics Consensus of the Polish Society of Ophthalmology guidelines, myopia still remains an indication for cesarean section (cesarian section), but not to shorten the second stage of delivery. We evaluate the impact of duration on the treatment effect of multifocal spectacle lenses used to inhibit myopia progression in children. A systematic literature search identified randomized controlled trials where multifocal lenses were prescribed as the intervention, with single vision lenses as the control. Nine randomized control trials involving 1701 children aged eight to 13 years, were included in the meta-analysis. Treatment effects, i.e. differences in spherical equivalent refraction between intervention and non-intervention groups, were analyzed over both six- and 12-month intervals.
CONCLUSION: This study revealed significant association of 4q25, 15q14 and MIPEP variants with myopia and different severity of myopia in southern Chinese population, joint additively enhancing 10-fold of risk predisposing to high myopia. The correlation of these associated variants with axial length and corneal parameters suggests their contribution to the refractive status in high myopia subjects.
