CONCLUSIONS Pulmonary hypertension occurred in 25% of the 182 interstitial lung disease patients and was negatively associated with deteriorated lung functions (specifically VC%, FVC%, and DLCO parameters). ANA level was not associated with the prognosis of pulmonary hypertension of patients with interstitial lung disease, and it did not significantly affect the correlation between PASP and pulmonary functions. Thus, ANA level did not seem to be a necessary indicator of pulmonary hypertension, and a more effective treatment method for pulmonary hypertension of patients with interstitial lung disease is urgently needed. ...

“We’re not as healthy as we should be.” That’s what Fitbit CEO and co-founder James Park said at Thursday’s TIME 100 Health Summit, where MSNBC anchor Stephanie Ruhle interviewed him about the company’s future in the health care space, the impact of wearables and just how active Fitbit’s 30 million active users really are. In this study, AT1-AAs were detected in the sera of patients with peripheral arterial disease (PAD) and the positive rate was 44.44% vs. 17.46% in non-PAD volunteers. In addition, analysis showed that AT1-AAs level was positively correlated with PAD. To reveal the causal relationship between AT1-AAs and vascular aging, an AT1-AAs-positive rat model was established by active immunization. The carotid pulse wave velocity was higher, and the aortic endothelium-dependent vasodilatation was attenuated significantly in the immunized rats. Morphological staining showed thickening of the aortic wall. Histological examination showe...

In this study, we aimed to explore the efficacy and safety profile of apatinib monotherapy, or combined with chemotherapy or endothelial growth factor receptor (EGFR)-TKI in heavily pretreated non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients with brain metastases. We performed a retrospective analysis for relapsed NSCLC patients with brain metastases from our institute, whom received apatinib (250mg or 500mg p.o. qd) monotherapy, or combination with EGFR-TKI or chemotherapy as second- or more line systemic therapy until disease progression or unacceptable toxicity occurred. The objective response rate (ORR), disease control rat...
