Conclusions: It appears that further studies are necessary to explain this problem, perhaps to include an evaluation of TF levels in psoriatic skin. PMID: 31616219 [PubMed]

In this study, we aimed to explore the efficacy and safety profile of apatinib monotherapy, or combined with chemotherapy or endothelial growth factor receptor (EGFR)-TKI in heavily pretreated non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients with brain metastases. We performed a retrospective analysis for relapsed NSCLC patients with brain metastases from our institute, whom received apatinib (250mg or 500mg p.o. qd) monotherapy, or combination with EGFR-TKI or chemotherapy as second- or more line systemic therapy until disease progression or unacceptable toxicity occurred. The objective response rate (ORR), disease control rat...

CONCLUSION: The prevalence of MetS is higher in patients with TRD than in those with other psychiatric disorders and characterized by a considerable undertreatment of some components of MetS in this population. Diagnosis and treatment of the components of MetS should be systematically performed to prevent the occurrence of cardiovascular diseases in patients with TRD. These findings highlight the need for integrated care, with more interaction and coordination between psychiatrists and primary care providers. PMID: 31617968 [PubMed - in process]

Conclusions: This study suggests that the prevalence of hypertension in Morocco is high. Hypertension may also be underdiagnosed and ineffectively treated. Efforts to heighten public awareness and control of hypertension should be enhanced in the public primary care services. PMID: 31612976 [PubMed - in process]

Authors: Andreeva-Gateva PA, Mihaleva ID, Dimova II Abstract Diabetes mellitus and cardiovascular diseases are part of the metabolic syndrome and share similar risk factors, including obesity, arterial hypertension, and dyslipidemia. Atherosclerosis and insulin resistance contribute to the development of the diseases, and subclinical inflammation is observed in both conditions. There are many proofs about the connection between epigenetic factors and different diseases, including diabetes and cardiovascular diseases. Interestingly, recent studies show that at least some anti-diabetic drugs, as well as blockers of t...

We have performed ChIP-seq analyses to reveal the function of both SMAD and ATOH8.
