Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and mesenteric venous thrombosis in a patient with Klinefelter syndrome
Klinefelter syndrome – one of the most common sex chromosomal disorders – is caused by the presence of one or more extra X chromosome and characterized by small testes, gynecomastia, and hypogonadism. Cardiovascular mortality in such patients, excluding that due to ischemic heart disease, is reported to be higher than that in the general population ; however, relevant information regarding cardiovascular events in these patients remains scarce. Here, we describe a rare case of Klinefelter syndrome with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and mesenteric venous thrombosis.
