Predictors of symptomatic lymphocele after kidney transplantation
ConclusionWe found multiple heterogeneous predictors for SL with a common denominator related to surgical management of the retroperitoneal space, peritoneum and the ureter. Future prospective studies are necessary to evaluate the influence of these variables on the development of SL.
ConclusionsHypothalamic EPO plays a role in the central regulation of muscle and metabolic physiology while its decline contributes to aging and obesity physiology in a manner which is independent of peripheral EPO.
CONCLUSIONS: CNB and SSNB have similar effects on pain relief, complications and functional recovery in patients receiving TKA. The optimal analgesic regimen for patients after TKA needs further identification. PMID: 31808660 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]
We present the case of a 4-year-old child who was admitted owing to the complaint of recurrent pancreatitis and had not previously been diagnosed with having metabolic disease. During inpatient treatment for acute pancreatitis, convulsions occurred with concomitant hyperammonemia, metabolic acidosis, coagulopathy, and shock 1 week after the administration of total parenteral nutrition. He was diagnosed to have PA after a metabolic work-up and confirmed to have novel mutation by molecular genetic analysis. Because children with PA may have acute pancreatitis, although rare, vomiting and abdominal pain should raise a suspici...
Conclusions The sincalide and EP cholecystagogues did not lead to significantly different HBS findings for similar patient populations or postcholecystectomy outcomes.
Conclusions This study revealed that LBBB patients with discordant T wave in lateral leads have significantly higher ischemic scores and worse functional parameters with more dyssynchrony in gated SPECT MPI.
We present 4 cases of pathology-confirmed BIA-ALCL to illustrate varying presentations and imaging features of this disease process. Breast implant–associated anaplastic large cell lymphoma presents most commonly approximately 10 years after implantation of textured silicone or saline breast implants. Patients may present with breast enlargement, peri-implant effusion, a palpable breast or axillary mass, lymphadenopathy, breast skin erythema, or pain. Diagnosis of BIA-ALCL may be confirmed by sampling of peri-implant fluid or biopsy of peri-implant masses or regional lymph nodes.
We describe herein the incidental detection of a giant hypometabolic fecaloma on PET/CT with 18F-FDG during the initial staging of a patient with osteosarcoma using opioids for pain management.
A 64-year-old woman with a history of cirrhosis and progressive difficulty breathing underwent pulmonary ventilation/perfusion SPECT to evaluate possible pulmonary embolism. The images demonstrated multiple mismatched ventilation/perfusion defects in both lungs, suggesting pulmonary embolism. However, there was also 99mTc-MAA radioactivity in the brain and bilateral kidney, with a right-to-left shunting rate of 8.8%. In addition, CT pulmonary angiography did not demonstrate embolus. The findings indicated that perfusion defects were caused by hepatopulmonary syndrome.
Purpose Based on the possibility that early-phase florbetaben (E-FBB) brain PET can be a surrogate for brain perfusion imaging, we conducted this study to investigate the clinical utility of E-FBB PET instead of 18F-FDG brain PET. Materials and Methods This prospective study included 35 patients with clinical suspicion of cognitive decline or dementia and 5 healthy controls. Brain MRI, E-FBB PET, late-phase FBB PET, and FDG PET were acquired. The regional SUV ratios (SUVRs) were calculated by cortical surface region of interest analysis using individual MRI, and relationship between E-FBB and FDG PET was analyzed. All...
68Ga-PSMA PET/CT has become a well-established imaging modality to detect prostate cancer (PCa) metastases in biochemical recurrence. Despite its claimed specificity for PCa, 68Ga-PSMA uptake in tissues unrelated to PCa, particularly in the neovascular tissue of other cancers, has been reported in numerous studies. A 73-year-old man underwent 68Ga-PSMA PET/CT for biochemical recurrence of PCa 7 years after radical prostatectomy. The 68Ga-PSMA PET/CT showed 1 lesion with PSMA uptake in the distal left ureter. Histology revealed a low-grade noninvasive papillary urothelial carcinoma. By immunohistochemistry, PSMA expression ...
