St. Louis auto mechanic wins $8M verdict for asbestos exposure

A St. Louis auto mechanic won $8.4 million against Ford Motor Co. for asbestos exposure in the 1960s, ‘70s and ‘80s while working at its dealerships. The mechanic, Al Bennett, and his wife, Pam Bennett, were represented by Chris Layloff and Jason Steinmeyer of the Gori Law Firm, who argued that he was exposed to asbestos through regular contact with brakes, gaskets, clutches and replacement par ts, leading to pleural mesothelioma diagnosis in his right lung.
