Thank you for your important comments. We also feel that histopathology is important prognostic factor in temporal bone malignancies. In our paper “Clinical management for T1 and T2 external auditory canal cancer”, we excluded patients with non-SCC histopathology in order to eliminate histopathologic bias [1]. As Dr Gino Marioni mentioned, Malignant tumors that originate from temporal bones vary in histologic type and are very rare tumors, so it is extremely difficult to examine differences in prognosis based on differences in histologic types.
