Retrospective Analysis of Risk Factors for Periodic Limb Movements in a Large Cohort of Insomnia and Chronic Fatigue Patients

Discussion This retrospective study adds supportive evidence to the association of drug classes with PLMS and PLMD. These findings may impact on clinical management of patients with a combined anxiety or mood disorder in need for these drug classes on the one hand and a significant sleep architecture disturbance through PLMS, potentially contributing to daytime symptoms, on the other hand. In this study, we have used a novel DNAzyme based approach to create a larval model of FXS in zebrafish with specific focus on the early developmental window.MethodsFmr1specific DNAzymes were electroporated into embryos to create theknockdown. Changes in RNA and protein levels of FMRP and relevant biomarkers were measured in the 0-7dpf window. Behavioral tests to measure anxiety, cognitive impairments and irritability in the larvae were conducted at the 7dpf stage. Drug treatment was carried out at various time points in the 0-7dpf window to identify the critical window for pharmacological intervention.ResultsThe DNAzyme b...

This study aimed to investigate the risk behaviors of adolescents with T1D and the effect of orthorexic eating behaviors (OEB) on glycemic control (GC). Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted with 107 adolescents with T1D who were between 13-18 years of age and attended high school. The risk behavior scale (RBS) and orthorexic behavior scale (ORTO-11) were administered to the participants. A high RBS score indicates risky behavior; a low ORTO-11 score suggests a tendency to OEB. At the same time, participants were tested for GC and categorized as optimal GC (HbA1c ≤7%) or poor GC (HbA1c>7%). Result...
