Washbasin

A light flickers. Palmfuls of water scooped slowly out of the sink cleanse an angular face now shaven. Another scoop and levels recede. Droplets lost through cracks in weary hands wet the lino. The remainder drip into the soft fabric of a loose towel that could wrap itself twice round this body.
