Raghu, C.N. ManjunathAbstractA dual left anterior descending (LAD) coronary artery is a rare, and benign congenital anomaly. In this anomaly, there is the presence of two LADs in the anterior inter ventricular sulcus (AIVS). One of the LADs is a short one that ends high in the AIVS. The other longer one enters the distal AIVS and feeds the apex. To date, 9 types of dual LAD variants, and one novel type X has been reported. Herein, we report a case of type X dual LAD with a literature review.

We evaluated the effect of BMI on the prognosis of patients successfully resuscitated from cardiogenic arrest.MethodsThis retrospective cohort study included 273 non-traumatic adult cardiogenic arrest survivors receiving coronary angiogr...

ConclusionIn neonates with ductus-dependent pulmonary circulation PDA stenting can be introduced as safe first possible option to augment pulmonary blood flow with good outcome and suitable preparation for second stage palliation. Unattainable PDA stenting or failure or inadequacy occurred in (30%) of cases where surgical option remains a standard option.

A-72-year-old male underwent coronary angiography, which revealed a severe stenosis of the left anterior descending artery with an extremely angulated diagonal branch. We introduced the Crusade (Kaneka, Osaka, Japan) accompanied with the reversed guidewire to the lesion, but the Crusade with the reversed guidewire cou...

A 64-year-old woman was admitted to our hospital 48 minutes after sudden onset of dysphasia and right hemiplegia. Head computed tomography revealed small infarcts in the left putamen and 4-dimensional computed tomography angiography depicted high-degree stenosis in the left middle cerebral artery and delayed filling of the contrast media in the left middle cerebral artery territory. The patient underwent intravenous tissue plasminogen activator treatment. On day 5 of hospitalization, the patient underwent conventional cerebral angiography, revealing internal carotid artery to middle cerebral artery dissection.

AbstractPurpose of reviewLeft atrial appendage occlusion with the Watchman ® device requires pre and post procedure imaging. Currently, transesophageal echocardiography is the recommended modality, though cardiac computed tomography angiography may be an acceptable alternative.Recent findingsCardiac computed tomography angiography can be used to safely and accurately predict Watchman ® device sizing. It can also be used to detect post procedure complications similar to, or better than, transesophageal echocardiography.SummaryCardiac computed tomography angiography is a viable alternative imaging modality for pre an...

We report a very rare case of intracranial infection by molluscum contagiosum virus. A 25-year-old girl was admitted to our hospital due to severe headache but no fever or other symptoms. Upon examination, some small flesh-colored flattened papules on both arms were noticed. Blood tests showed slightly reduced levels of CD3 and CD4 T lymphocytes. Three-dimensional time-of-flight magnetic resonance angiography (3D-TOF-MRA) and head magnetic resonance (MR) were both normal. Lumbar puncture was performed, and metagenomic sequencing was applied to the spinal fluid. The unique sequences of the molluscum contagiosum virus were i...

We report an unusual case of a late intercostal artery pseudoaneurysm, after a video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery, presenting as a large intra-parenchymal lung mass. Diagnosis was made by biphasic computed tomography angiography and contrast-enhanced pulsed-wave doppler ultrasound. To minimize the risk of aneurysm bleeding immediate angiographic embolization was planned and successfully performed.IAP should be considered in presence of lung mass in patients who have previously undergone an intervention with intercostal approach to prevent life-threatening complications.
