Metal selectivity for in-situ dehydrogenative cross-coupling of 2-hydroxymethylpyridine with small cyano anion

Publication date: 15 December 2019Source: Journal of Molecular Structure, Volume 1198Author(s): Mohd R. Razali, Stuart R. BattenAbstractThe synthesis, characterizations and crystal structures for [Cu(ipnm)(hmpH)] (1), mixed-valent tetranuclear [MnII2MnIII2(dcnm)2(hmp)6Cl2] (2) and the homo-valent hexanuclear [FeIII6(dcnm)6(hmp)8O2] (3), (where ipnm = imido[cyano (picolinoyl)methyl]nitrosomethanide, hmpH = 2-hydroxymethylpyridine; dcnm = dicyanonitrosomethanide) are reported. The formation of new dianionic ligand, ipnm which is also an imide derivative, represents the scarce example of metal-mediated in-situ dehydrogenative cross-coupling between amide derivatives with primary alcohol. Structure of 2 is known as ‘butterfly’ type structure while hexanuclear cluster 3 exists in chair-like conformation which in both structures, the dcnm acting as a terminal ligand.Graphical abstract

Publication date: 25 November 2019Source: Journal of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry, Volume 79Author(s): Rafael F.N. Quadrado, Gustavo Gohlke, Robson S. Oliboni, Alessandra Smaniotto, André R. FajardoAbstractSilver nanoparticles (AgNPs) were synthesized using an innovative strategy that makes use of tangerine peels extract, which acts as a reducing and stabilizing agent. This eco-friendly synthetic route allowed obtaining spherical nanoparticles with narrow size distribution (19.2 ± 6.7 nm) within a short reaction time (40 min). Later, the AgNPs suspension was entrapped in a poly(vin...

HallowellAbstractIntroductionObesity is a risk factor for non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Bariatric surgery can provide durable weight-loss, but little is known about the later development of NASH and HCC after surgery.MethodsBariatric surgery (n=3,410) and obese controls (n=46,873) from an institutional data repository were propensity score matched 1:1 by demographics, comorbidities, BMI, and ...
