Bilateral vesicoureteral reflux: pro intravesical techniques.

[Bilateral vesicoureteral reflux: pro intravesical techniques]. Aktuelle Urol. 2019 Aug 21;: Authors: Kranz J, Steffens J Abstract All surgical techniques in antireflux surgery are characterised by a high success rate of over 90 %. The common goal of all procedures is the formation of a submucosal tunnel which is four times longer than the diameter of the ureter. Successful treatment has been achieved worldwide with the extravesical antireflux technique according to Lich-Gregoir in non-dilated ureters and psoas hitch ureterocystoneostomy in dilated ureters. Intravesical surgical procedures include the Politano-Leadbetter technique and Cohen's cross-trigonal reimplantation. These open or laparoscopic/robotic standard procedures have higher rates of success than endoscopic subureteric injection. PMID: 31434136 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

ConclusionUreteral endometriosis can lead to severe consequences, the surgical treatment can be difficult and most of the times incomplete. This video is a detailed example of our team strategy to perform a termino-terminal ureteral laparoscopic anastomosis in a structured way.

ConclusionsLRNU outcomes are not dependant on the type of endoscopic approach performed. The open extravesical approach is a more difficult technique and could worsen the oncological outcomes when compared to the intravesical. We report four patients with obstructed hemivagina and ipsilateral renal anomaly (OHVIRA) syndrome associated with a urological anomaly other than typical renal agenesis. Three patients had a dysplastic kidney and an ectopic ureter to the vagina, and one had a vesicovaginal fistula. Although the timing of surgery differed, all patients underwent vaginal septum resection. The vesicovaginal fistula was repaired laparoscopically, and the patient was asymptomatic one year later. In the remaining three patients, resection of the dysplastic kidney and ureteral ligation were both effective procedures for the management of urine d...

Authors: Van Slambrouck J, Vlasselaers J, Devos B Abstract Peritoneal tuberculosis is a rare extrapulmonary manifestation of tuberculosis. Considering the diagnosis of peritoneal tuberculosis in a low prevalence setting can be vital for the further clinical management in selected patients. In a young male with migration background, presenting with generalised abdominal pain, computed tomography revealed ascites, omental and peritoneal thickening and enlarged mesentery lymph nodes. Computed tomography also revealed a distal ureteral calculus at the right vesico-ureteral junction. Diagnostic laparoscopy showed a nodul...

The objectives of our study were to (i) examine the rate of vesico-ureteral injury at benign hysterectomy by surgical approach and (ii) compare the risk of vesico-ureteral injury specifically between minimally-invasive laparoscopic and abdominal hysterectomy on a populational level.DesignRetrospective population-based observational study.SettingThe National Inpatient Sample.Patients501,110 women who underwent hysterectomy for benign gynecological disease from 1/2012-9/2015 were included: total abdominal hysterectomy (TAH, n=284,365 [56.7%]), total laparoscopic hysterectomy (TLH, n=60,410, [12.1%]), abdominal supracerv...
