Purdue Pegboard Test

This test is designed to assess loss of dexterity against age-related normative data. The Purdue pegboard consists of a rectangular wooden board with two parallel lines of 25 holes each spaced 1  cm apart running up the length of the board with four holders along the top for pegs, washers and collars (see photograph). It was originally designed by Joseph Tiffin from Purdue University, West Lafayette, IN, in 1948 to evaluate manual dexterity in prospective candidates for assembly line work [1].
