ConclusionIn women with endometrial polyps the prevalence of CE is higher in those with infertility compared to women without infertility. Pregnancy outcome of infertile women with treated CE was similar to those with infertility and without CE.

Conclusion: Early diagnosis and direct surgery for excision of hemangioblastoma is a good option during pregnancy while avoiding CSF diversion procedures. The symptomatic hemangioblastoma during pregnancy can be safely operated during early pregnancy. PMID: 32494398 [PubMed]

Authors: Karakoc G, Turgal M, Eroglu H, Cakir C, Yavuz A, Yucel A Abstract We aimed to assess whether the second-trimester maternal serum markers could be used for the prediction of labour induction success. This prospective study enrolled women planned labour induction at term. Women were assigned to one of two groups: vaginal prostaglandin or balloon dilatation. All patients were evaluated for Bishop score, maternal serum oestriol, human chorionic gonadotropin and progesterone at the time of second-aneuploidy screening. The total successful rate for induction of labour was 63.9% in both groups. Maternal serum oes...

In conclusion, Dexamethasone administration affected only the middle cerebral artery pulsatility index before 34 weeks of gestation.IMPACT STATEMENTWhat is already known on this subject? Preterm births account for 75% of neonatal morbidity and pulmonary dysfunction plays an important role on such morbidities. Also, neonates born after an elective CS have significantly higher rates of respiratory morbidity and neonatal intensive care unit admission. Corticosteroids are wildly used to improve neonatal outcome in women who have expected preterm labour and before an elective CS.What do the results of this study add? Dex...

The objective of the study was to evaluate uterine electrical activity (EA) with EMG methods in pregnant women with complete placenta previa with preterm caesarean section (CS). This prospective study included 78 patients with complete placenta previa who were recorded for uterine EA activity from 32 to 34 weeks of gestation. The clinical and the uterine EMG burst characteristics, that are responsible for contractions, were compared between a preterm CS group (case group, n = 33) and an elective control group (control group, n = 45). The uterine EA burst duration was longer in the case gr...

Authors: Rayis DA, Musa IR, Al-Shafei AI, Moheldein AH, El-Gendy OA, Adam I Abstract A longitudinal study was carried out to investigate the prevalence and risk factors (including haemoglobin levels) for gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) in Khartoum, Sudan. The study was carried out at Saad Abuelela Hospital (Khartoum, Sudan) during February to November 2017. Pregnant women in early pregnancy (gestational age 10.8 g/dl were at a higher risk of GDM (OR = 2.52, 95% CI = 1.02 - 6.27, p = .044). There is a high prevalence of GDM, especially among women with high haemoglobin levels.I...

This study used nationally representative data from demographic and health surveys (DHS) in Namibia, Kenya and Sierra Leone. A direct sisterhood method was used to estimate pregnancy-related deaths based on 7 years of recollection. Findings of the study reveal that death during the antenatal period was the commonest time of death in mothers aged 15-19, while death during delivery and two months after delivery were the leading causes of death for mothers aged 20-24. Pregnancy-related deaths were more prevalent among women with no schooling or primary education than their counterparts with secondary and higher education.Impa...

We report two Danish patients withSTK11 mosaicism detected in blood when using Next-Generation Sequencing. This is only the sixth and seventh patient reported in the literature, and we compare phenotypes of the reported cases. The results indicate thatSTK11 mosaicism is more frequent than anticipated and highlight that mosaicism should be considered in patients with clinical suspicion of PJS or patients fulfilling the diagnostic criteria.

Publication date: Available online 15 December 2018Source: Journal of Minimally Invasive GynecologyAuthor(s): Huiying Zhang, Huixia Zhang, Xueqing He, Wenyan Tian, Xueru SongABSTRACTEndometrial polyps are frequently encountered in the uterine cavity of infertile women. There is much debate regarding the treatment of endometrial polyps in patients who are undergoing assisted reproductive technology (ART). A systematic review was performed by searching PubMed, Embase, and the Cochrane Library for retrospective or prospective studies that compared the effect of hysteroscopic resection of polyps with no treatment on pregnancy ...

The objective of this systematic review and meta-analysis was to assess the efficacy of diagnostic and operative hysteroscopy in improving the live birth rate (LBR) of infertile women, with and without intrauterine abnormalities, at any stage of the infertility work-up. SEARCH METHODS PubMed, Embase, the Cochrane Library and the Clinical Trials Registry using Medical Subject Headings and free text terms were searched up to June 2014, without language or year restrictions. Randomized controlled trials (RCTs) enrolling infertile women with no suspected intrauterine cavity abnormalities and comparing hysteroscopy versus no h...
