Arteriovenous hemangioma masquerading as a dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans

36-year-old African American female presented to the Dermatology clinic with a 10+ year history of enlarging lesion on the left dorsal upper arm that was tender to palpation with pain also elicited by exposure to heat. She denied drainage, bleeding, or other exacerbating factors. She had no history of keloids or similar lesions. On exam, she had four agminated, somewhat firm, skin-colored papules ranging in size from 1 mm to 8x7 mm with smooth surface and some superficial vasculature appreciated on dermoscopy.
