Foreign body type of granulomatous reaction to green tattoo pigment

Background: Permanent tattoos can be complicated by infection, neoplasm, as well as inflammatory reactions. Despite transitions away from metal salts in tattoo ink inflammatory reactions are still frequently observed. Inflammatory reactions from tattoo ink include allergic hypersensitivity, granulomatous, lichenoid as well as pseudolymphomatous. Reactions from tattoo ink most frequently occur due to red pigment, whereas allergy to green ink is relatively uncommon.
