ConclusionsThe incidence of PSE after mechanical thrombectomy was low in our cohort. All blood biomarkers displayed interesting sensitivity and specificity. However, the number of PSE cases was small and more studies are needed on risk factors for PSE after mechanical thrombectomy. The potential of blood markers of brain injury markers to contribute to assessment of PSE risk should be explored further.This article is part of the Special Issue "Seizures &Stroke".

We report a case of moyamoya disease with epileptic nystagmus. A 23-year-old woman presented with a headache and transient hemiparesis on her left side. Magnetic resonance imaging showed no ischemic or hemorrhagic stroke lesions. CONCLUSIONS: In 2014, there were 28,212,820 (2.02% AIS and 5.50% LDs) hospitalizations. LDs patients had higher prevalence and odds of having AIS compared with non-LDs. Between 2003-2014, of the total 4,224,924 AIS hospitalizations, 451,645 (10.69%) had LDs. ConclusionsStatin treatment, especially with intensive-dose statins, can reduce the risk of PSS.
