Antihyperlipidemic effect of iridoid glycoside deacetylasperulosidic acid isolated from the seeds of Spermacoce hispida L. - A traditional antiobesity herb

This study was aimed to validate the traditional claim and to identify the antihyperlipidemic principle in the seeds of Spermacoce hispida using bioassay guided fractionation method.MethodsBioassay monitored fractionation of the aqueous extract from Spermacoce hispida seeds was carried out using triton WR 1339 induced hyperlipidemic animals. It yielded deacetylasperulosidic acid (DAA) as the active ingredient. Pharmacokinetic properties of DAA were predicted using DataWarrior and SwissADME tools. In vitro antiobesity and antihyperlipidemic effects of DAA were evaluated in 3T3L1 preadipocytes and HepG2 cells, respectively. The chronic antihyperlipidemic efficacy of DAA was evaluated in high fat diet fed rats.ResultsDAA did not show any mutagenic and tumorigenic properties. It bound with PPARα with comparable ligand efficiency as fenofibrate. The treatment with DAA significantly lowered the proliferation of matured adipocytes, but not preadipocytes. The treatment of steatotic HepG2 cells with DAA significantly decreased the LDH leakage by 43.03% (P

Authors: Leite DFB, Cecatti JG Abstract The actual burden and future burden of the small-for-gestational-age (SGA) babies turn their screening in pregnancy a question of major concern for clinicians and policymakers. Half of stillbirths are due to growth restriction in utero, and possibly, a quarter of livebirths of low- and middle-income countries are SGA. Growing body of evidence shows their higher risk of adverse outcomes at any period of life, including increased rates of neurologic delay, noncommunicable chronic diseases (central obesity and metabolic syndrome), and mortality. Although there is no consensus re...

hey all, I’m doing a significant amount genicular RFA with mixed results. Mainly in patients who are non-surgical candidate with severe knee osteoarthritis, morbid obesity etc. I work in the hospital when I started they already had coolief so I have been using that exclusively. Used it in fellowship. based on the Franco cadaver study, the superior medial and superior lateral Lie in the 50th to 75th percent depth of the distal femur, So I do two lesions at the sites (even with cooled), one... DISCUSSION: Using a new and freely-available Canadian walkability index, this study observed a positive association between walkability and both measured obesity and self-rated general health in adults. Walkability is one of many built environment characteristics that should be considered when trying to understand the relative contribution of the built environment to a person's weight and overall health. Authors: Grijalva-Avila J, Villanueva-Fierro I, Lares-Asseff I, Chairez-Hernández I, Rivera-Sanchez G, Martínez-Estrada S, Martínez-Rivera I, Quiñones LA, Loera-Castañeda V Abstract Mexico ranks 2nd in adult obesity and 4th in milk intake worldwide. Low levels of IGF-1 have been related to obesity and can be reverted by milk intake. The rs6214 polymorphism has been associated with an increase in the expression of IGF-1. Therefore, the aim of the study was to evaluate the association between both, rs6214 polymorphism and milk intake, and obesity. We analysed 99 adult volunteers, wi...
