Social-media use 'disrupting teen sleep and exercise'
Checking sites multiple times a day means less time is spent on healthy activities, a UK study suggests.
This study was performed in order to determine the effect of energy drinks (ED) use on fatigue and sleep disorders in bus drivers. It was planned between April and May 2017 as a descriptive and cross-sectional design. 239 out of the 357 bus drivers who met...

We present a narrative review of our data on the Tübingen palatal plate (TPP), which show the following: a) in a randomized trial, the TPP was superior to a sham procedure in alleviating UAO; b) children treated with the TPP in infancy showed an intellectual development within the reference range; c) prone positioning is no alternative, as it is ineffective and associated with an increased risk of sudden death; d) the TPP reduces the mixed-obstructive apnea index to near-normal values, both in isolated and most (83%) syndromic RS; e) of 443 infants (129 syndromic) treated with the TPP in our center, 23 ultimately rece...
Background: Atopic dermatitis (AD) is a common chronic, relapsing inflammatory skin disorder associated with increased PDE4 activity, characterized by intense and persistent pruritus which can cause significant impairment in quality of life, including sleep disturbance. Difamilast, a PDE4 inhibitor which is highly selective for PDE4B, is being developed as a 1% ointment for the topical treatment of AD.
Background: Psoriasis, psoriatic arthritis, atopic dermatitis (AD), hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) and chronic urticaria (CU) are associated with sleep disturbances (SD). Validated, disease-specific instruments are needed to assess SD in these populations. This work focuses on the development of the ‘PsO Sleepy-Q’ for psoriasis and ‘PsA Sleepy-Q’ for psoriatic arthritis.
Introduction and Objectives: With aging, there is the formation of free radicals, through the process of oxidative phosphorylation, which cause damage to the cellular constituents of lipids, proteins and nucleic acids. To reverse this harmful process, the body has an endogenous defense consisting of enzymatic compounds such as Superoxide Dismutase (SOD), catalase and glutathione, which with time undergo natural degradation. Melatonin is an endogenous antioxidant that acts during sleep combating oxidative stress by stimulating the production of these enzymes, mainly SOD.
