Predictors of Retention in Care Among a Cohort of Chronically HBV Infected Patients: What Are We Missing?

We have read with interest the article entitled “Low Rates of Linkage and Retention Into Care Among Patients With Chronic HBV Infection” by Tang et al1 recently published in Clinical Gastroenterology and Hepatology. Tang et al found a 62.3% rate of linkage to care (LtC) and a 44% rate of retention in care (RiC) in a cohort of chronically he patitis B virus (HBV) infected patients. The authors identified male sex and Asian ethnicity as predictors of RiC, defined as attending at least 2 follow-up visits after the first LtC.
