Persistent ovarian remnant leading to borderline mucinous tumor
A 55 year-old female with long standing history of endometriosis presented to the gynecology clinic with a pelvic mass. Her surgical history was significant for multiple endometriosis surgeries at an outside facility including ultimately, a total abdominal hysterectomy and bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy. Following her hysterectomy, the patient's pain persisted and imaging obtained 6 months postoperatively revealed a 28 cm pelvic cyst. The patient then underwent laparotomy where a pelvic cyst was removed with pathology confirming an ovarian cystadenoma.
