Salivary antioxidants and oxidative stress markers in male smokers.

CONCLUSIONS: Cigarette smoke produces free radical and oxidative stress, causing many side effects. Salivary antioxidant levels decreased and malondialdehyde levels increased in smokers, indicating the high oxidative stress among smokers compared to nonsmokers.
