Hemodialysis for lamotrigine poisoning

We read with interest the recent paper by Agrawal and colleagues claiming a benefit for the use of hemodialysis (HD) in acute lamotrigine poisoning [1]. We commend the authors for attempting extracorporeal removal in a patient with prolonged severe toxicity in agreement with previously published guidance [2]. However, because of the lack of objective evidence of drug removal, the report fails to provide sufficient data to support the efficacy of HD in this case.
