ConclusionOur pilot curriculum addresses a gap in resident education about surgical cost. Residents generally regard equipment standardization as either improving or not changing hospital metrics.
ConclusionLaparoscopic approach to isolated relapse of ovarian cancer is feasible and safe, with fast recovery
ConclusionsRobotic resection of the tumor nodule off the external iliac vessels was successfully performed with adequate range of motion provided by the arms and without any complications.Trocar placement should be tailored to the site of surgical interest. Robotic-assisted laparoscopy should be considered as a valid alternative to the traditional open approach, when managing solitary masses in recurrent ovarian cancer patients.
We report a case of 65 year old female, with mass per vagina since 10 years, who developed acute urinary retention due to impaction of vesical calculus at the external urethra meatus. Subsequently in a span of 12 hrs she passed 3 more vesical calculi. KUB X-ray failed to show any calculi but CT KUB showed 2 vesical calculi. After cystolitholapaxy she underwent laparoscopic sacrocolpopexy for vault prolapse. In cases of chronic uterovaginal prolapse or vault prolapse X ray KUB should not miss the prolapsed part of the cystocele as calculi are present in the most redundant part. Chances of missing radiolucent u...
ConclusionMLL remains to be underdiagnosed. Due to the obesity epidemic, clinicians must be aware of this once rare disease. The role of concurrent bariatric surgery with surgical resection of MLL warrants further studies.
Authors: Hu Y, Yu L, Xia F, Liang F, Cheng C, Huang Y, Xiao L Abstract Effect of laparoscopic myomectomy on the serum levels of interleukin-6 (IL-6) and total antioxidant capacity (TAC), and the ovarian function of patients with uterine fibroids was studied. Ninety patients with uterine fibroids admitted to The Central Hospital of Wuhan, Tongji Medical College, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, from March 2013 to July 2014, were randomly divided into the experimental group (n=45) and the control group (n=45). The experimental group was treated with laparoscopic myomectomy, and the control group was tre...

This study evaluated the safety and feasibility of MBBT in patients undergoing TLDG. Thirty-three patients who underwent TLDG with MBBT were retrospectively evaluated. The mean operation time was 277.6±37.1 minutes, including 51.9±15.7 minutes for reconstruction. Two patients had anastomosis-related complications, one patient with stricture after leakage and 1 patient with stenosis. The former patient was treated with endoscopic balloon dilatation, and the latter was managed conservatively; neither required re-operation. MBBT is a safe and feasible technique, with acceptable surgical outcomes. It may be a goo...
Conclusions: The overlap method was superior to the HDST with respect to anastomotic complications, especially anastomosis stricture. PMID: 31598376 [PubMed]
Conclusions: Our procedure for hand-sewn purse-string suturing with the double ligation method is simple and safe. PMID: 31598372 [PubMed]
