The N-Degron Pathway Mediates ER-phagy
Ji et al. show that the N-degron pathway mediates ER-phagy for ER protein quality control, initiated by the interaction of the autophagic cargo adaptor p62 and the transmembrane E3 ligase TRIM13. Ubiquitination of TRIM13 and the N-terminal arginine residue of N-degron substrates such as BiP/GRP78 functi on as ER-phagy degrons.
