Screen Pregnant Women for HBV at First Prenatal Visit
The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force has issued a final recommendation statement and evidence review on screening pregnant women for hepatitis B virus infection. Based on that review, the USPSTF recommended screening pregnant women for HBV at their first prenatal visit to help prevent infection in newborns.
