Enhancing interfacial and tribological properties of self-lubricating liner composites via Layer-by-Layer self-assembly MgAl-LDH/PAMPA multilayers film on fibers surface

Introducing nanoscale fillers onto fibers surface can significantly enhance the surface energy and roughness, which contributed to improve the adhesion strength. In this work, MgAl-LDH/PAMPA multilayers films were loaded onto Nomex and PTFE fibers surface by a simple and high efficiency Layer-by-Layer (LbL) self-assembly approach. The tensile strength of the LbL-9 composite was 111.54 MPa, which increased by 11.58% compared to that of pristine composites (99.96 MPa). Moreover, the bonding strength of LbL-9 composites was 40.8% higher than that of pristine one. Meanwhile, friction and wear tests results proved that MgAl-LDH/PAMPA modified composite displayed preferable tribological properties.
