Graft-versus-host disease (GvHD) represents a leading cause of morbidity and mortality after allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplantation (allo-HCT).4-6 GvHD can lead to a high symptomatic burden, decline in functional status and poor quality of life.7,8 Cutaneous GvHD occurs frequently and is the most common presenting sign, highlighting the importance of early dermatologic diagnosis and intervention to mitigate disease progression.9 Acute GvHD (aGvHD) typically presents with a maculopapular rash whereas chronic GvHD (cGvHD) presents with poikiloderma, lichen planus-like, lichen sclerosus-like, morphea-like, and sclerotic features.

CONCLUSION: K17 is potentially expressed in certain inflammatory skin diseases, including psoriasis and lichen planus. Besides, it is not always a marker of hyperproliferation of keratinocytes in skin diseases.PMID:34552343 | PMC:PMC8450673 | DOI:10.2147/CCID.S322226

CONCLUSIONS: The specific concentrations of cortisol, estrogen, and nicotine as stressors can effectively reduce the expression of HSP70 in normal oral mucosal keratinocytes. These phenomena can be effective in cell viability and the development of oral lichen planus.PMID:34545710 | DOI:10.1002/cre2.493

CONCLUSION: We describe a form of facial lichen planus that is highly particular in terms of its follicular tropism, its blaschkoid distribution, its pigmented character, and its atrophic progression.PMID:34538651 | DOI:10.1016/j.annder.2021.08.003

This study included 89 paraffin-embedded blocks contain OLP (44 cases), CLP (45 cases) and NOM from the archive of Mashhad University of Medical Sciences, Mashhad, Iran. The expression of RORγt and IL-17 was evaluated by Real-time RT-PCR method. The result was compared to Leukocyte counts and the other hematological parameters of studied patients.RESULTS: The results of our study showed IL-17 and RORγt expression in OLP lesions were significantly higher than CLP and NOM groups (P = 0.001). Although we found high expression of RORγt and IL-17 in erosive OLP in compared to classic OLP lesion, but this incre...

by Phuc Thi-Duy Vo, Sun Shim Choi, Hae Ryoun Park, Ahreum Lee, Sung-Hee Jeong, Youngnim Choi Oral lichen planus (OLP) is one of the most prevalent oral mucosal diseases, but there is no cure for OLP yet. The aim of this study was to gain insights into the role of barrier dysfunction and infection in OLP pathogenesis through analysis of transcriptome datasets available in public databases. Two transcriptome datasets were downloaded from the Gene Expression Omnibus database and analyzed as whole and as partial sets after removing outliers. Differentially expressed genes (DEGs) upregulated in the dataset of OLP versus health...

This study aimed to assess the relationship and possible interactions between metallothioneins (MTs) and megalin (LRP-2) in different grades of oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) and premalignant lesions of the oral mucosa (oral leukoplakia and oral lichen planus). The study included archived samples of 114 patients and control subjects. Protein expression was examined by immunohistochemistry and immunofluorescence, and staining quantification was performed by ImageJ software. Protein interaction in cancer tissue was tested and visualized by proximity ligation assay. Mann-Whitney and Kruskal-Wallis tests were used to dete...

Acta Derm Venereol. 2021 Sep 7. doi: 10.2340/00015555-3917. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTNail dermoscopy (onychoscopy) is a valuable diagnostic tool for evaluating diseases in the nail apparatus. It is non-invasive, allowing clinicians to prioritize particular nails for biopsy. Thus, it can improve diagnostic accuracy and expedite treatment. Evaluating inflammatory nail disorders using onychoscopy is a relatively new approach to clinical assessment and has the potential to augment clinical care. This review highlights key dermoscopic features of major inflammatory nail disorders, including trachyonychia, nail psoriasis, n...
